The US Army Corp of Engineers has recently completed their new visitors center at Lake Shelbyville and it is an impressive structure. The building is beautiful on the inside as well and has a breathtaking view of the lake. It is going to be a great showcase of quilts with the lake as a backdrop.
They will be holding a Grand Opening Open House on May 7 and 8. A quilt showcase will be held in their new conference room and we are asking for entries. If you are interested in participating go to www.mainstreetquiltcompany.com or www.mvs.usace.army.mil/shelbyville/events.html for more information.
On the home front we have been busy with the "kids" - literally. We have finished with the kidding for the year and ended up with a total of 5 babies. They are a blast to watch jumping through the grass and it will be a fun time at the fair this year.
I finished up the mobius scarf but still need to weave in my ends and then I will post a picture. All the dresden's are finished and waiting to be appliqued to the background. I have been busy finishing up the first sample for our new Prairie Women that starts tomorrow night. It seems like there are just not enough hours in the day!
